Version 2.2.4 reached the stable channel on October 29, 2026. It is the largest release so far and it changes how the app is organized: the board stopped being a place for some of your work and became the place for all of it. How OrcStrator works describes the result as the app stands today.
Every chat is a card
Before 2.2.4, a chat you opened by hand lived outside the board. Now every chat is a card from the moment you open it, a one-line question included, and it stays that card for its whole life. Routine runs appear as cards under their routine. Each card opens as a tile in the chat grid, which now holds up to 10 columns and 100 chats.
The practical effect: the board answers “what is running, and what needs me?” for everything, not only for the jobs you planned.
A Tasks workspace
The Tasks page grew into a workspace. It has a list, a timeline and charts, with priorities, labels, due dates and saved views. Bulk changes, such as moving or labeling several cards at once, can be undone. “My Work” shows what is on you; “All tasks” shows everything, as a List, Board, Projects, Calendar or Timeline.
Chiefs for your routines
Chiefs look after your routines so you do not have to read every run. Each chief watches its numbers, fixes what breaks and asks you only when it needs a decision. The standard set is Sales, Content, Operations, Finance, Product and Coach. Chiefs arrived in this release as a Beta feature.
A Usage dashboard
A Usage dashboard shows what every chat and every chief costs, in one chart, with a history you can filter. It sits next to the quota bars, which show how much of your Claude limit is left.
A Close menu with Safe Close
Closing a chat used to mean deciding what to do with its work yourself. The Close menu now does it. Safe Close saves the chat’s work, merges it into the main version of the project and tidies up the chat’s side copy before it closes. The menu also offers “Save work, keep open”, “Send back to the board”, “Minimize” and “Force Close”.
What works better
- Chats pick up on their own when your Claude limit resets, instead of waiting for you to nudge them.
- Switching Claude accounts keeps one account active at a time.
- A working chat shows its latest step in plain words inside the message box, so you can see progress without reading the whole reply.
- “Allow always” saves a narrow rule, never a whole program. A routine that a chat changed runs with permission checks on until you look at it.
What was fixed
- Paid plans can no longer be unlocked by editing a file on your computer.
- Question cards no longer arrive without their context.
- Open folder shows the folder again, and chats always use the real git and tools.
- The Orc acts on your yes only when its question offered that exact thing.
