OrcStrator's Solo plan is free, needs no card and runs on Windows 10 and 11. It pays for nothing on the Claude side: you use your own Claude plan, billed by Anthropic, and OrcStrator plans pay only for OrcStrator's own features.
What does the free plan include?
Solo
Free forever, no card
Windows 10 and 11 · up to two computers · your own Claude login
- Chats side by sideReal Claude Code sessions on one screen, no terminal.
- The board and TasksEvery chat is a card: Backlog, Ready, Running, Needs your review, Done, plus List, Calendar and Timeline views.
- Side copies and Safe CloseEach chat can work on its own copy of the project, and Safe Close saves and merges its work for you.
- Permission questions in plain wordsAccept or Reject with a plain-English line and a recommendation, plus Approve everything with four levels.
- Your limits on screenSession and weekly quota bars, a pace mark and a warning before you run out.
- Auto Compact and keep warmIdle chats are summarized before Claude's cache runs out, and the app shows what that saved.
- Claude account switcherSign in to Claude inside the app; one account active at a time.
- Backup and RestoreOne password-protected file with your chats, board and settings. Logins are never included.
Each of these is described step by step on how OrcStrator works.
What is not on the free plan?
These features are gated in the app. When you try one, a window titled "Not on your plan" says so in plain words; nothing you already made is touched.
- The Orc, the assistant that runs the board for you
- Routines and schedules
- Chatting from your phone with Telegram
- Starting cards from other apps
- Skill packs
- Beta updates
Are there paid plans?
Paid plans are planned and not on sale yet. There is no buy button in the app: its upgrade window reads "Upgrades are coming soon. Want early access? Email nask@rodrigonask.com." This page will list the paid plans and their prices once checkout opens, and not before.
How do plan limits work?
A limit only stops you starting or creating something new. The app's own words: "Your plan lets N chats work at the same time", with "Wait for a chat to finish, or stop one", and "Your plan holds N open cards at a time. Cards in Done do not count." Existing work is never hidden, deleted or slowed, and a chat's own card does not count toward the card limit.
What does Claude itself cost?
That is between you and Anthropic. OrcStrator starts the official Claude Code on your computer with your own login, sends nothing through a middleman and resells no Claude usage, so your Claude plan and its limits stay exactly as Anthropic sets them. OrcStrator shows those limits on screen and works to make them go further, but it never adds quota.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is OrcStrator free?
Yes, the Solo plan is free and needs no card. Every account starts on it. It covers chats side by side, the board, side copies, Safe Close, permission questions in plain words and your limits on screen, on up to two computers. Paid plans with more features are planned and not on sale yet.
Do I still pay for Claude?
Yes. OrcStrator runs the official Claude Code with your own Claude login, and you pay Anthropic for Claude directly. OrcStrator's plans pay only for OrcStrator's own features, such as how much the board holds, The Orc and routines. OrcStrator never resells, pools or shares Claude usage.
What happens when I reach a plan limit?
The app tells you in plain words and stops only the new thing you tried to start. For chats it says your plan lets a set number work at the same time, so you wait for one to finish or stop one. Existing work is never hidden, deleted or slowed down, and cards in Done do not count.
When can I buy a paid plan?
Not yet. The app's upgrade window says upgrades are coming soon and offers early access by email at nask@rodrigonask.com. Until checkout opens, there is no buy button anywhere in OrcStrator, and nothing on the free plan expires or asks for a card.
How many computers can I use?
The free plan signs in on up to two computers. If both are in use and you sign in on a third, the sign-in page offers to sign out your other computers and continue. Your chats and work stay on each computer; only your email, a scrambled computer id and your plan leave it.
